Charlotte in October: This Is Why People Want to Live Here

Charlotte has a way of showing off in October. The air finally feels a little cooler, the leaves are starting to change, patios are filling back up, and there seems to be something fun happening everywhere you turn.

This week is a perfect example. You can enjoy Wednesday Night Live at some of Charlotte’s favorite museums, head to Witches Night Out at Waverly, cheer on the Hornets at their home opener, take the family to Goodies & Goblins at Promenade on Providence, or spend the weekend stepping back in time at the Carolina Renaissance Festival.

And honestly, this is one of the things I love most about living here.

Charlotte is big enough that there is always something new to discover, but it still has plenty of places that feel familiar. You can spend an evening Uptown, enjoy dinner outside in South Charlotte, walk one of our greenways, visit a festival, or drive a little farther out and feel like you have completely escaped the city.

We talk a lot about home prices, interest rates and square footage in real estate. But when people decide where they want to live, it is rarely just about the house.

It is about the life they imagine having there. And October is one of those months when Charlotte makes that picture especially easy to see.

My takeaway? Sometimes the best reminder of why people continue to choose Charlotte is not found in a market report. Sometimes you just have to step outside and enjoy where we live.
