Need Weekend Plans?

One of the things I love about living in the Charlotte area is that there is almost always something going on somewhere nearby. And this weekend, I found a few things that caught my attention.

Some are perfect for a date night, some are family-friendly, and several won’t cost you anything at all. So if you’ve been wondering, “What should we do this weekend?” here are a few ideas.

Here are a few ideas, and don't miss the bonus at the end!

Rock’n & Reel’n in Pineville

Friday, August 14 | 7:00 PM
Pineville Lake Park

Enjoy an evening outside with The Return, a Beatles tribute band. Admission is free, so bring a chair or blanket and make a night of it.

Waxhaw Farmers Market

Saturday, August 15 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

If you haven’t visited the Waxhaw Farmers Market lately, Saturday morning might be the perfect time. Shop local produce, baked goods, handmade items and more while supporting our local vendors.

Cartoons & Coffee at Rea Farms

Saturday, August 15 | 8:30 AM

A fun one for the kids, or maybe the kids at heart. Rea Farms is showing Zootopia 2, making this an easy Saturday morning outing for families.

 Mint Hill Family Night

Saturday, August 15 | 6:30–9:00 PM
Veterans Memorial Park

Pack up your lawn chairs and enjoy an outdoor concert at Mint Hill’s Family Night. Another free option for getting out of the house and enjoying a summer evening.

River Jam at the Whitewater Center

Friday & Saturday | 7:00–10:00 PM

Live music, summer weather and the Whitewater Center are a pretty good combination. River Jam is free to attend, although there is a parking fee.

And One Last Event To Consider:

If none of those tempt you, Charlotte Burger Week is happening too, with participating restaurants offering special $8 burgers.

That might be reason enough to skip cooking this weekend!

I may have to add a couple of these to my own weekend plans. If you go to one, let me know what you think.

And if there’s a local event, restaurant or hidden gem you think I should know about, send it my way. I’m always looking for something new to share around Charlotte.

Enjoy your weekend!
